Sometime in the fall of 2018, a message came along from Henk-Jan Geel of Arctic Adventure…. it was more of a challenge!

What’s stopping you from going on an Arctic Adventure?
Well… nothing really, but I decided to discuss it over the phone. In a clear and calm manner he explained what it entails. Yes, it can be cold (sleeping at -25 in a tent) but what you get in return!

In December we had the introductory meeting with the other adventurers and thus already started the adventure. Soon there was an app group that was well used and in which Henk-Jan always quickly answered our questions clearly.

The entire trip was expertly prepared and organized! It’s a total package that you get so you really only have to arrange your own stuff and even there he gives advice.

The final journey (Arctic Grand Slam February 2019) was unforgettable, indescribable, intense and magical.

Henk-Jan exudes a calmness, knowledge, attention and drive that is very motivating. There were moments of pushing boundaries and “out of my comfort-zone” and I enjoyed every moment and felt safe.

The physical exertion, the cold, the arctic landscape was felt throughout my body. A revelation to experience and a trip I can more than recommend to anyone who loves adventure and a challenge! I will definitely go again!
