Arctic Adventure receives Travelife Partner Sustainability Award
Arctic Adventure wins Travelife Partner Award for sustainability efforts. The organization meets more than 100 criteria, including environmental management and corporate social responsibility.

Utrecht, May 8, 2023. The Travelife Partner Award was received today by Arctic Adventure. The award recognizes Arctic Adventure’s long-term efforts in sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Arctic Adventure meets more than 100 criteria, covering a travel company’s office management, product offerings, international business partners and customer information. The Travelife standard covers the ISO 26000 corporate social responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labor relations; and is formally recognized as fully consistent with the UN-supported Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria.
Arctic Adventure is participating in the EU-funded SUSTOUR project that runs from 2020 – 2023 and aims to promote sustainability in the European tour operator industry through a business-led approach. The project supports more than 600 SMEs from 35 European countries in improving their sustainability performance through training, coaching and peer-to-peer learning opportunities.

According to Henk-Jan Geel, founder of Arctic Adventure, it is fully in line with the company’ s long-term strategy to be more sustainable. “If I want our travelers to be able to enjoy nature, we have to set the best example ourselves,” Geel said.
In addition to the Travelife Partner Award, Arctic Adventure is also affiliated with 1% for the Planet. This dedicates 1% of all sales to nature-related charities.
Travelife, established with support from the European Commission, is the leading international sustainability certification for the travel industry. More than 35 national travel organizations are promoting the program among their members, including VvKR, ABTA, UHPA, SMAL, APAVT, and the ANVR.
