The wonderful trips of Henk-Jan Geel of Arctic Adventure Expeditions, who doesn’t know them yet? I saw them come by on LinkedIn with some regularity and every time I gave a like, Henk-Jan asked me, “Cindy will you join me?”

In the fall of 2019, I took the plunge and said “yes” to the Women Only Arctic Expedition in Swedish Lapland scheduled for early February 2020. In particular, it was the varied program of the Women Only Arctic Expedition that appealed to me.

Preparation for the trip was excellent. Meeting once for questions and explanations and getting to know the group. Henk-Jan arranges the trip, equipment and food. You yourself take care of your equipment. Regarding the latter, you are well advised and guided. You can train physical fitness, but you can also train on cold beforehand.

In retrospect, I can honestly say: an amazing journey in a fairytale landscape for those who seek adventure and love challenges. Going beyond your limits, encountering your limits physically and mentally. I loved it, but also cursed the cold at times. Working together, being there for each other, seeing each other. Important skills to bring along on a trip like this.

Henk-Jan or Karin, whichever of them you meet as a guide, both are fine expert people to whom a trip like this is completely entrusted.
