Corona and Covid-19 measures from Arctic Adventure
Last update (13-5-2021):
We won’t leave you out in the cold.
That’s our bottom line. There is a lot about corona and travel. But what it comes down to in the end is that we won’t leave you out in the cold.
Below we have described how we do that.
Situation as of May 13, 2021
Travel abroad is allowed again as of May 15, 2021. However, the local Covid situation is then considered on a country-by-country basis.
Our proposed trips will not take place until June 2021.
You can take an option on a trip for free. We will then go through together whether the trip is feasible or not.
Adjustments to our program
- For activities in the Netherlands, for example the Map & Compass workshop, we adhere to the RIVM guidelines.
We will do this for as long as necessary or required. - For our expeditions, we make adjustments to allow them to proceed safely. Consider procedures for sleeping in the tent or cooking. For example, we sleep up to 2 people in a 3-person tent. If you want to sleep in your own tent, that is also possible.
We adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines as established by the Adventure Travel Trade Association.
Free exchange up to two weeks before departure in case of code orange or red at destination.
The program for 2021 and 2022 is online.
You can already book your expedition now and start preparing and training for this.
As long as a country has a negative travel advisory (code orange or red), you can cancel participation free of charge up to 2 weeks before departure.
No questions asked. After this time, you will pay the normal cancellation fee.
Read what the different color codes for travel destinations mean here.
When you register for one of our expeditions, you will only receive a deposit invoice of €200.
Should the trip be unable to go ahead due to corona measures in the destination country, there are two options.
1) We will push the travel date to a date in the future by mutual agreement.
2) We will cancel the trip (by mutual agreement) and you will get your money back including deposit.
If services have already been enjoyed from the trip, we will deduct them from the amount you get back.
Consider costs for a preparation day or the food package already distributed.
Should you cancel the trip yourself within two weeks before departure, our cancellation policy applies.
During the trip
During the trip, we make every effort to abide by the applicable rules that exist in the destination country.
For this, we work with the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s Covid-19 guidelines.
We also, of course, adhere to the guidelines in place at the site of our expeditions.
If you have corona yourself at the departure of the trip, it is not wise to go along. We then require you to cancel so as not to endanger others.
We still recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance in case you become ill yourself and are unable to undertake the expedition.
The above arrangements are in addition to our travel conditions.
