Preparations for the Expedition to Greenland
Today I’m sharing a special update with you. This is the first time I’m sending a message via satellite phone while still in Utrecht. We leave next Monday, but I’m already testing all communication equipment from the Netherlands. This allows us to solve any problems here before we go to Greenland. The satellite phone is one of those means, as is recording blog posts. This is how we prepare the expedition down to the last detail.
Testing Communication Equipment
We test everything: the satellite phone, the RTG radio (although in the Netherlands we are only allowed to listen and not transmit), and the Garmin inReach. It is crucial that we leave nothing to chance in Greenland. If there are errors, we want to solve them here in the Netherlands.
Daily Updates from Greenland
You have now experienced what it sounds like when I record a message with the satellite phone. In Greenland, I hope to be able to provide daily, or at least very frequent, updates. I am also looking at the automation on the back end of our system. The blog post that I record is automatically placed on the website and transcribed. With the help of AI, blog posts are then created from it. The content remains unique because I record it myself.
With these preparations, we ensure that our expedition to Greenland runs smoothly and that you stay informed of our adventures.
