What an incredibly beautiful experience: hiking through the wilderness of South Greenland with all your belongings on your back, in a small group (6-7 people) with an expert guide. Henk-Jan radiates tranquility and energy and if things go differently than expected (that happens quite often in Greenland), he thinks in solutions.

The trek was tough for me (56 years old, six months extra training), but not for a moment did I think ‘why am I doing this’. The overwhelming nature, the unpredictable weather, setting up camp and eating together under the tarp, the impressive views (fjords with hundreds of ice floes), the many water crossing moments, the whale in the bay … it was a succession of beautiful experiences.
